Scott Levy, Director of Government Affairs - Amedisys, Inc.

Scott Levy is the Vice President of Government Affairs for Amedisys, Inc., where he oversees all aspects of public policy for Amedisys across all lines of business at the state and federal level.  Prior to joining Amedisys, Scott practiced law at a multi-state regional law firm, focusing on regulatory, procurement, litigation and government matters.  He has also worked at both the state and federal level and has experience in all three branches.  A graduate of Louisiana State University and the Louisiana State University Law Center, Scott and his wife Candace reside in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina with their children Adi (9), Michael (6) and Simon (4).

Kevin McHugh, RN, MSN, CHPCA, President - Embrace Hospice of South Carolina

Kevin has been a hospice nurse and executive for many years and with several different agencies throughout the southeastern United States.  He is currently retired from twenty-seven (27) years of outstanding U.S. Army service to his country.  He holds a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree Throughout his extensive career, Kevin has practiced nursing in diverse settings such as hospice and palliative care, hospitals, senior care facilities, the military, teaching and even prison nursing.  He has helped open, build, and operate a number of successful hospice programs and inpatient facilities to include South Carolina’s latest facility in Myrtle Beach.  His years of devotion as a hospice leader prepares Embrace Hospice for the future.  Employees of Embrace rally around Kevin's sense of urgency, display of responsibility, and honesty, along with his desire to truly make a difference for others.  Kevin continues to expand upon his experience in the hospice setting by attaining the Certified Hospice and Palliative Care Administrator (CHPCA) certification and is also serving on the Executive Committee for the Board of Directors for the South Carolina Home Care and Hospice Association.  He was recently appointed to the Governor’s new Palliative Care and Quality of Life Study Committee by the Speaker of the House.  He is also very involved in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) and the American Heart Association (AHA). He resides in Aynor, South Carolina and spends his spare time with his wife April and their children and grandchildren.  He also enjoys cheering on his beloved Pittsburgh and South Carolina based sports teams.  

Bonnie Mello, Director Home Care Services - Roper St. Francis Home Health

Ms. Mello graduated from the University of South Carolina with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing and Southern Wesleyan University with a Master’s of Science in Management and Leadership.  She is responsible for the Home Care Department, which includes Home Health, Home Infusion, Hospice, Home Palliative and Lifeline Services for a Roper St. Francis Healthcare in Charleston, S.C.  She provides leadership for the financial, clinical and operational aspects of the Home Care Department on a day-to-day basis.  She has been with the Home Care Department for 30 years.  Over the years, she has been instrumental in the implementation of a Telemonitoring Program, Hospice, Transitional Care Program, and Clinically Integrated Network.  Ms. Mello has written and received several grants for the advancement of home care services within her agency.  In the past, she has served as the co-chair for the SC Hospital Association Hospital-based Home Health Council.  She served on the SC Home Care and Hospice Association Nominating Committee for 3 years.  She has held a SC Home Care and Hospice Association Board of Directors seat for the Low Country region since 2015.  Ms. Mello has served as secretary and treasurer on the SC Home Care Association Executive Board.   

Mary Peck, Area Vice President - Kindred at Home (Gentiva)

Mary Peck has been in healthcare in the South East for over 20 years and is currently the Area Vice President of Sales for SC. She began her career as a licensed therapist working in an acute care setting, outpatient and home health. She followed by going into pharmaceutical business development for over 10 years returning to the DME/ home health arena with Gentiva/Kindred at Home 10 years ago.  Since, she has been a part of the growth of home health and hospice markets by working with our acute care partners in alternative payment models, to mergers and acquisitions to partnering with our senior living communities to provide the best care for our seniors.  Her clinical and community experience has given her firsthand knowledge of the care continuum our patients experience everyday and their unique needs in each of these settings. She is a past member of the Surfside Rotary, a current member of the Executive Board of Directors for the SC Home Care & Hospice Association and a current member of the Board of Directors of the SC Assisted Living Association.

David Powell, DMin, CEO - Hospice Care of South Carolina

David Powell currently serves as Chairman of the Board of the South Carolina Home Care and Hospice Association and is seeking reelection. He is the Chief Executive Officer for Hospice Care of South Carolina. As CEO, he primarily focuses on building vision and values of a successful culture around being the leader in end of life care services, leadership development and team building, clearly communicating the mission and setting strategy that meets the needs of employees, customers, investors, communities and the law.  He is an active advocate for patient and families in both state and national organizations. David completed undergraduate work at Berry College in Rome GA, with a BS in Chemistry.  He has completed two Masters and a DMin. in Theology. David has 19 years’ experience in corporate management in Healthcare and Environmental Services and is a graduate of Leadership Spartanburg. David and his wife Rayna reside in Spartanburg, SC along with their four daughters.

Ellen Bolch, President & CEO - THA Group

Ellen is President and CEO of THA Group, which is a family of in-home health companies – Island Health Care, Island Hospice, Independent Life at Home, Palliation Choices, and RightHealth Solutions®, serving coastal Georgia and South Carolina.  THA Group provides Medicare-certified home health, non-profit hospice care, palliative care, chronic disease management, patient self-management through telehealth, and private home care for aging-in-place. Ellen Bolch is heavily involved in her industry and community, having served on numerous national, regional and local Boards, including the National Association for Home Care and Hospice (NAHC) and as Co-Chair of the National Medicaid Action Council affiliated with NAHC. She served on the Executive Committee for the Forum of State Associations and is also a member the Advisory Board of the Home Care Technology Association of America.  Bolch is the immediate past Chair of the South Carolina Home and Hospice Care Association.  She has spoken to both local and national audiences, and has been published in Caring Magazine, The Remington Report, the Journal of the American Association of Preferred Provider Organizations, the Home Care Journal of Texas and, in The Encyclopedia of Information Science and Technology.

Melissa Allman, Government Affairs Director for South Carolina  - BAYADA Home Health Care

Melissa Allman serves as the BAYADA Government Affairs Director for South Carolina. She joined BAYADA in 2003 as a client services manager, working closely with the clients and field staff to ensure they received the best possible care and schedule they desired. Allman rose through the ranks within BAYADA, most recently as the division director for South Carolina. While working with offices providing care to BAYADA clients, Allman also became a leader in the organization’s advocacy efforts. She trained as a Hearts for Home Care Ambassador for both North and South Carolina. In her role as the state director for South Carolina, Allman combined her passions to work with state legislators, national associations, regulatory agencies, and other key influencers to help ensure that vulnerable children, adults, and seniors get the home care services they need and deserve.
Allman sits on the Board of Directors for the South Carolina Home Care and Hospice Association and the Advisory Board for Winthrop University Health Care Management. She has a desire to help people remain in the comfort of their own homes, and a passion to recruit the most compassionate caregivers to provide the excellent care.
Allman has a bachelor’s degree in business administration, with a minor in health care management from Winthrop University in Rock Hill, SC.

Darby Anderson, Executive Vice President/Chief Development Officer - Addus Home Care Corporation

Mr. Anderson is in his twenty third year developing In-Home Personal Care business for Addus which operates in 24 states, through 157 locations and serves over 39,000 consumers.  Mr. Anderson has thirty years of experience in operations and business development of home care and home health services. Prior to working for Addus, Darby was Director of Marketing for a regional provider of in-home personal care and prior to that was Assistant Administrator for a Chicago based Medicare Certified Home Health Agency.  Mr. Anderson has run operations today in excess of $500M in annual revenue, has led or otherwise been involved in over 35 transactions including two initial public offerings and has been appointed or elected to board and advisory committee positions in multiple states through state administrations or trade associations, including currently serving as Vice Chairman of the Medicaid Partnership for Home Based Care.

Sarah Feldman, Regional Vice President of Operations, Encompass Health.

Sarah Feldman has been in healthcare for over 20 years.  She is currently a Regional Vice President of Operations for Encompass Health. Sarah started her career in research in Boston, MA, studying the effects of preoperative exercise programs on the discharge status for patients undergoing total joint replacement at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.  From there, Sarah spent 10 years in the long term acute care setting, progressing her career from Director of Rehabilitation Services to Area Director of Operations for the RehabCare division of Kindred Healthcare.  She decided to change her career path to focus on the home care setting after moving to Florida.  She quickly found this to be her passion and she has remained in the home care setting for the past 11 years, advancing her career from Area Director to Regional Vice President for 15 locations across Florida, Georgia and South Carolina. 

Teresa Fry, Administrator - KershawHealth Home Health & Hospice

Teresa Fry, MSN, RN is the Director/Administrator for KershawHealth Home Health & Hospice.  She received her Bachelors of Science in Nursing and her Masters of Science in Nursing Leadership from Western Governors University.  Her practical and management experience in the Home Health & Hospice industry spans over 18 years.  She is an active member of the South Carolina Organization of Nurse Leaders (SCONL) and the South Carolina Hospital Association (SCHA).  Teresa currently resides in Lugoff, South Carolina, with her husband Gary.  Contact information is tfry@kershawhealth.org

April McHugh, COO - Embrace Hospice of South Carolina

April McHugh, RN is the Chief Operating Officer for Embrace Healthcare and currently serves on the SCHCHA Board in an At-Large seat and is seeking reelection.  Her twelve years of hospice experience include case management, PCC, QAPI Director and Chief Operating Officer for hospices in Indiana, Georgia, and South Carolina.  She owns a Healthcare Management company and manages all its clinical direction and quality controls. April is a guiding force in five years of NO CAP debt, zero deficiency ACHC surveys, and a National top 5% CAHP rating in Georgia.   She is heavily involved in all advertising, community events, and public speaking for Embrace Hospice in the Grand Strand.  As a member of SCHCHA, April supported the PAC through Embrace Healthcare.  April currently serves as Chair for SCHCHA’s Professional Development Committee and has served on Regulatory and Education committees for SCHCHA and taught a class for the Association.

Chris Nave, Senior Vice President of Sales - Medline Industries

Chris Nave is the Senior Vice President of Sales for the Homecare Division at Medline. Chris has been with Medline for 17 years and has spent the last 15 years focused on the home health and hospice markets.  He leads the Homecare sales teams which delivers business solutions and provides medical products to more than 8,500 home health and hospice customers. Chris graduated from Lynchburg University in Lynchburg, Va., with a BS in marketing.

Karen Noblett, Senior Director - Hospice and Palliative Care Palmetto Region

Karen Noblett, Regional Director, has been with Hospice and Palliative Care Charlotte Region since 2003.  She had served in many roles, from afterhours nurse to marketing to case manager.  Karen’s wealth of experience, her leadership style, skills, and drive made her a perfect match to open a new SC office in 2014 now known as Hospice & Palliative Care Palmetto Region. She has helped to grow the census to a 50 patient ADC in just over 3 years.  Karen has built a hospice program the right way, with a focus on high quality customer service and patient care.   Karen holds a Certified Hospice and Palliative Nurse (CHPN) certification as well as the Certified Hospice and Palliative Care Administrator (CHPCA) certification.  She has also been highly involved in HPCCR’s acquisition of Hospice of Laurens County.   Karen is a member/contributor of CarePac (SCHCHA’s PAC), attended the 2018 SC Home Care & Hospice Legislative Day in Columbia, SC, and is a member of HPNA, Member SC Department of Health and Environmental Commission – Midlands Healthcare Coalition.

Tiffany Richter, DO, Medical Director - Roper Hospice & Roper Hospice Cottage

Tiffany Richter DO is a graduate of Nova Southeastern University of Osteopathic Medicine in Florida. She completed a residency in Family Medicine and a fellowship in Palliative Medicine and Hospice at Broward General Medical Center. She is board certified in Family Medicine as well as Palliative Medicine and is also Hospice Medical Director Board Certified.  She is the medical director of Roper St. Francis Healthcare Hospice and Roper Hospice Cottage in Mount Pleasant.

Tim Rogers, President and CEO - SCHCHA

Tim has 26 years of experience working in the home care, home health & hospice industry. He received his B.A. in Political Science and History from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Prior to home care & hospice, Tim worked for 9 years with the State Employees Association of NC and NC Bankers Association in member relations and as a lobbyist. Through his career, he has focused on creating programs and using technology tools to help organizations understand and achieve the operational, clinical, and financial benefits available through technology.  Mr. Taylor previously led sales teams for AMC Health, Medtronic, Allscripts, Honeywell HomMed, and SpaceLabs Healthcare.  Mr. Taylor attended Brigham Young University and graduated first in his class from the Marriott School of Management MBA Program.  Mr. Taylor is happily married to his beautiful wife Elise and lives in Utah with their magnificent 8 children.

Dorothy Wilson, Quality Director - St. Francis Hospital Home Care/Open Arms Hospice

Dorothy Wilson is a current member of the SCHCHA Board seeking re-election. Previously, she served as a Board member for two consecutive terms. She has been an ongoing member of the Education Committee. Dorothy has volunteered at SCHCHA’s Annual Conventions as well as serving as a presenting panelist. Dorothy is a native-born South Carolinian who began her home care career three decades ago as a staff nurse in rural upstate. Since that time, she has worked in both hospital-based, for profit, and governmental agencies throughout the state. Much of her career has been in the area of home care and hospice quality and compliance. There have been ongoing challenges and successes in our industry throughout the years, but she believes one constant of this industry has been the presence, support and action of the South Carolina Home Care & Hospice Association. She would love to have the opportunity to be a part of this Board as it continues to serve our industry in the state of South Carolina.

Troy Yarborough, Co-CEO - Hospice Care of South Carolina

Troy Yarborough is the Co-Chief Executive Officer for Hospice Care of South Carolina. He is a seasoned healthcare executive with over 20 years of ascending leadership experience. Since October of 2016, he has served as the Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing for United Allergy Services, a PE-backed organization focused on partnering with physicians to expand allergy testing and treatment options within the primary care arena. Prior to joining UAS, Troy spent eight years in the Home Health and Hospice industry with national providers Amedisys, Harden Healthcare and Gentiva/Kindred. During this time, he honed his executive leadership insight through sales, marketing and operational positions with a dedicated focus on improving top line growth, enhancing clinical quality, and driving operational efficiencies to accelerate company performance. Troy’s professional foundation and leadership philosophy derives from his degree in biology from Wofford College. Troy resides in Spartanburg, SC with his wife Stacey and four children.

Seth Zamek, Owner/Executive Director - Senior Helpers

Seth Zamek is the Owner/Exec. Dir. of Senior Helpers, a Home (Health) Care organization providing services in York, Lancaster, and Chester counties, South Carolina. Seth and his wife Jennie, started Senior Helpers in 2008 after they had personal experience caring for Jennie’s Dad (who had ALS) and her Mom (who had cancer and other health conditions). The organization places professional caregivers in folk’s homes to assist with their personal care and other activities of normal life. Seth has extensive experience in the healthcare field, as a hospital and medical practice administrator, and a partner in a healthcare consulting firm. Over 30 years, Seth has held positions for a number of healthcare organizations, including Manager of Managed Care, Director of Strategic Planning, Executive Director of Physician Services and Vice President of Business Development. Seth earned a Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration and an MBA from Georgia State University in Atlanta, GA. He is also a licensed Emergency Medical Technician (EMT). Seth has served on many boards and advisory councils during his career. He currently serves as the Chairperson for the South Carolina Alzhmeir’s Association State Board of Directors, Board member for the Parkinson’s Association of the Carolina’s, Individuals Caring for the Elderly Committee, United Way Allocation Committee, Board member (and former Chairman) for the Catawba Regional Education Center Advisory Board, Lancaster County Adult Protective Services Interdisciplinary Team, York County Regional Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and past-Chairperson of the Small Business Advisory Council, York Technical College Business Department Advisory board and is 3 time past-Chairmen for the Rock Hill Area Walk to End Alzheimer’s. Seth is also a certified Dementia Care Specialist, a certified Long Term Care Insurance Claims Advocate and serves as a facilitator for two Alzheimer’s/Dementia Support Groups.
