The Aide's Role: Caring for Non-Surgical Orthopedic Patients

Home Health and Hospice aides deliver what many patients, and their families, consider the most essential treatment in this phase of their life. These compassionate aides assist with bed positioning, sit to stand transfers and falls prevention when walking with the patient. Orthopedic issues, including joint pain, limitations in the range of motion, arthritis, tendonitis, spinal stenosis, fractures, and osteoporosis, can create a variety of challenging situations that require advanced knowledge for optimal patient care. This webinar will address some common strategies for patient movement while protecting our aides from injury.
