Presented by Dr. Shane R. Mull and Charles Canaan, this virtual workshop is designed to help provide information and updates to help Hospice Medical Directors and Hospice Physicians gain knowledge on Medicare rules and regulations in the hospice setting.

Dr. Shane Mull is the Senior Medical Director for Palmetto GBA.  He has over 15 years of practice in rural primary care, emergency departments and military medicine.  He is Board Certified in Family Medicine and has degrees from the University of South Carolina (M.D.), Medical University of South Carolina (M.H.A.) and the College of Charleston (B.A. and B.S.).  He is a Colonel in the South Carolina Army National Guard where he serves as a Flight Surgeon.  He has been awarded fellowship in the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) and the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) and is a Certified Professional Coder (CPC).

Charles Canaan has over 30 years of diverse nursing experience in a variety of healthcare settings, to include inpatient, outpatient, home and organizational settings.  His education includes a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia and a Master of Public Health Degree in Health Promotion and Education from the University of South Carolina and a Coding for Health Care Professionals Certificate from Trident technical College.  He currently provides education and consultation to Medicare providers with learning needs.

Confirmation:

Prior to the workshop you will receive a confirmation email. If you have opted for the virtual attendance, a Zoom link will be e-mailed to you. You will need to register through this link to attend the webinar. After registering via Zoom, you will receive a confirmation email which will include a join link to access the webinar, a dial-in number and an access code to listen in via telephone. You will also be sent any pertinent handouts if available. 


Registration Fee:
The registration fee covers one individual’s attendance and lunch will be provided. For virtual attendees: Multiple site participation from individuals within your agency will require separate registration. For example: if your agency has paid for 1 participating registration but 3 people from your agency would like to attend, your agency will need to pay a separate registration fee for all 3 participants. In addition, if your agency has sent in 1 registration but 3 people from your agency register through the Zoom link, your agency will be invoiced the registration fee for the additional 2 registrations. The handouts will be emailed to you to the email address you provide. Please feel free to provide an additional email address as a backup. If you would like to register more than 5 attendees from your agency, please contact [email protected] for discount group pricing.

Cancellation and Substitution Policy:
Fees will be refunded, or invoices will be adjusted, only if written notice of cancellation is received by AHHC/SCHCHA one week prior to the event. In the event of cancellation, AHHC/SCHCHA will retain, or charge, 50% of the initial registration fee, per registrant, to cover administrative overhead. Once written cancellation is received, an AHHC staff member will review for approval. If your cancellation is approved, we will email back a signed and dated copy of the cancellation that your agency should retain on file in case of questions. Recording: This event will not be recorded.

Audience: While this course is specifically designed for Hospice Medical Directors, Hospice Physicians, and Advance Practice Providers (APPs), we welcome anyone interested in attending this course to register.

Continuing Education: Continuing education credit will not be offered for this event.
